FAQ

Questions, clearly answered

What patients most often ask us before they travel — about treatment, travel, pricing and aftercare.

01How many grafts will I need?

From your photos we can give an estimated range, but it stays an estimate. The number is set once a clinician has examined your donor area, hair density and the zones you want covered, and that figure goes into your written plan.

02Should I choose FUE, Sapphire FUE or DHI?

You don't need to decide in advance — "not sure" is a perfectly good answer on the consultation form. The treating team recommends a technique after evaluating your hair type, the size of the area and your goals, and explains why.

03How long will I stay in Istanbul for veneers or crowns?

Plan for several clinic days spread across your stay. The exact length depends on how many teeth are being treated and the clinic's protocol — for example whether temporaries, try-ins or a second visit are needed. Your plan lists the appointment days before you book travel.

04Do I need X-rays or a CBCT scan before I travel?

Recent scans help us give a more accurate plan and quote, so send them if you have them. If not, that's fine: the clinic can take X-rays or a CBCT scan in Istanbul at your first appointment.

05Which Istanbul airport should I fly into?

Either works: Istanbul Airport (IST) or Sabiha Gökçen (SAW). Choose whichever has the better flights from your city. If transfers are part of your package, we arrange pickup from the airport you land at.

06Can you book my flights?

We give you guidance on timing, routes and which dates fit your treatment, but you book the tickets yourself. That way you stay in control of your dates, fares and any changes.

07Are the guide and package prices final?

No. The prices on the site are estimated ranges in EUR to help you plan. Your final price comes in a written treatment plan, issued after a medical review of your case.

08Which currency will I pay in?

Plans and quotes are prepared in EUR. Where you see GBP, USD or CAD on the site, those are approximate conversions for reference; the amount on your written quote is the one that applies.

09What's the difference between Comfort and Premium hotels?

Comfort packages use mid- to upper-range hotels close to the clinic. Premium packages step up to a higher hotel category. In both cases the exact property is confirmed when your stay is booked.

10Is the airport transfer private?

It depends on your package. Essential may not include transfers, Comfort includes a standard private transfer, and Premium includes a VIP transfer. Your plan states exactly what is covered.

11Can I go sightseeing after my treatment?

Sometimes, and gently. After some treatments light activity is fine; after surgery, or with a fresh hair transplant, the priority is rest and following your aftercare instructions. Your treating team tells you what is safe and when.

12What happens after I fly home?

Your coordinator stays in touch for remote follow-up, passing your photos and questions to the treating team. Depending on the procedure, you may also be advised to see a local doctor or dentist for a check-up.

13Is ELAVIA Global a hospital?

No. ELAVIA Global is a medical-tourism concierge: we coordinate your plan, travel and stay. Treatment is delivered at independently operated partner clinics, which are responsible for clinical care. We publish clinic and doctor credentials only once they have been verified.

14When do I pay?

Payment follows the terms set out in your written quote. Never transfer money based only on a price you have seen on a website — wait for the written plan and quote first.

15Will there be a translator?

Multilingual coordination is included, so you can reach your coordinator in your language throughout. If you would like a dedicated interpreter with you at the clinic, that can be added to your plan.
